The Community for Sustainable Energy is a citizen group in support of energy systems fostering protection of the natural environment, economic prosperity, and the continued improvement of quality of life in Colorado by engaging consumer input in energy policy decisions.
MISSION
The mission of the Community for Sustainable Energy is to raise consumer awareness of energy issues and organize consumer demand to inform and influence energy policy makers.
PRINCIPLES
To adhere to the principles of sustainability an organization work towards a healthier environment, economy, and social condition that can be achieved without compromising future generation’s ability to do the same.

OBJECTIVES
HISTORY & SUCCESS
Founded in 2006, the Community for Sustainable Energy is a registered 501 (c)3 tax-exempt Colorado educational and advocacy organization. We assisted in improving the Fort Collins bus system and getting the Flex route to Denver and Boulder, organized support to get a Community Solar Garden in Durango, helped to get safer drilling practices in Northern Colorado towns, and continue to prod Fort Collins Utilities and Colorado’s electric co-op’s to improve energy efficiency programs for customers.
RECOGNITION
In 2010, The Community for Sustainable Energy was the recipient of the Green Giants Award from the Poudre Valley Green Party, recognized as the leading grassroots campaign in Fort Collins with over 15,000 FTC contributors and over 10,000 citizen comments generated to the Fort Collins City Council.
