Bruce Short is the founder of Short Forestry. He has over thirty-five years of professional forestry, natural resource, and fire management experience in the Southeast, Great Plains, Rocky Mountains, and Pacific Northwest. Throughout his career he has been a proponent of conservation, sustainable forestry and the responsible use of natural resources. Most of all, he loves his job and has a real passion for the work he does!
- Graduated in 1973 from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Conservation and a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry
- A member of the Society of American Foresters since 1973
- SAF Certified Forester #3272
- USDA-Forest Service certified Silviculturist since 1981 and Regional Silviculturist, Rocky Mountain Region, 1999-2004
- Incident Command System qualified as Planning Section Chief
