Chris largely focuses on Colorado water rights and related real estate matters. In these areas, he continuously helps ski areas, real estate developers, municipalities, water conservancy districts, special districts, ditch companies, owners's associations, and individuals to acquire, plan and develop water supplies.
He also assists clients in navigating local, Colorado and federal land use and environmental permit requirements applicable to construction and operation of water facilities and other real estate development. Chris frequently works with clients, real estate professionals, and other attorneys to evaluate and negotiate the purchase of water rights associated with real estate.
His practice also continues to include estate planning, landlord/tenant matters, and real estate transactions.
He is a member of the Executive Council for the Water Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, sits on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the Roaring Fork Valley, serves as the current president of the 9th Judicial District Bar Association, and is actively involved in construction and maintenance of soft-surface hiking and biking trails in his community.
