Shavano Conservation District Updated:03/2024

The District strives to help landowners and cooperators by providing natural resource information and assisting in the development of conservation plans on their land that assist in fostering range management, preventing soil erosion, preventing the spread of noxious weeds and protecting water quality and quantity.

Shavano supports strong education and outreach programs that reach both youth and adults. The District believes that working on conservation issues with the youth of today will preserve agriculture for tomorrow

As a designated salinity area, Shavano holds salinity control as a top priority. The district participates in both the EQIP and BSP programs. Funding is received for conservation practices targeting the reduction of salinity in the discharge waters.
